The last hoorah

I have this memory from when I was a teen; I use to visit this shop in town all the time. It was run by an older Goth couple, so all the misfits would naturally hang out at the shop. I don't remember much, but they gave me a piece of advice that I still laugh at to this day.
"Get a job in sex, or death, and you'll always be employed"'.
You know that feeling like there's sand falling through your fingers. Well, I can say that there is no money in Sex anymore. And unfortunately I don't intend to start working at funeral home anytime soon. The economy is fucked. I don't think anyone will disagree at this point, regardless of political positioning.
Wellington has been hit so hard it's actually scary. Everyone I know is struggling in one way or another, while prices on everything just keeps going up. I feel like I'm standing on my tip toes in the deep end of a pool, and the water keeps rising.
I frankly have hit a point where I don't know what to do anymore. At this point I'm only working to pay for my Ad - if that. With the literal thousands of job cuts that have happened in Wellington, disposable income is naught. Touring isn't an option either as it is straight gambling now from what I've been hearing, and lady luck is making herself scarce. Plus the cost up front is rather ouch, as the savings aren't healthy as I'm chewing through them currently.
My rent is going up 20% which given the already tight circumstances, was an absolutely knuckle sandwich to the gut. And, I've been looking for a new spot but they're not much cheaper and frankly awful. They are either in disrepair and I'm not will to work out of them. Or the new builds are so unlivable because they're so small, I'd have to sell all my furniture and not have any hobbies. It's criminal.
I've been looking for a part time job, but the job market is just as diabolical. And with a mystery "gap" in my CV from SW, it's going to be even harder.
I'm going to have to put the Website on hold, I'm not going to be paying for an AD and Website while there's no money to be had in the industry. So, if my website goes offline in roughly two weeks, that'll be why. The priority is active advertising over a website.
Can't say the moral is high at the moment. The fatigue and nihilism over instability is very real right now. I feel stuck. Well, not feel, I am stuck. Trying to make things move but nothing seems to be catching.
Sorry it's not quite a fun entry into the ol' blog for the last one. But unfortunately, it is what it is at the moment. If you are a gifter, practical gifts are the most appreciated currently, New World / Prezzy cards etc, while I look for a part time position somewhere. Hopefully there will be an economic up turn very soon, for everyone, or pray that I win lotto. I love SW, but the industry is dead.
Hopefully there will be a lot of fucking again in 2027!
